Burbank celebrates 40 years of creating beautiful family homes!
 

It was a time when Bob Hawke ran the country; miniskirts, parachute pants and neon colours were the height of fashion; and the ‘business at the front, party at the back’ mullet hairstyle was the cut of choice. 
 
The year was 1983, Petrol was 60 cents a litre, a loaf of bread would cost you 77 cents, and a six-pack of beer would set you back around $4. 
 
And Burbank Homes was an up-and-comer in the property development space. With a shared love of home building, stepbrothers Eddie Sanfilippo and Eddie Puhar founded what would become one of Australia’s most trusted and prolific residential builders. 

Back then, the average house price was $75,000, rents were around $335 a week and people were earning about $21,000 a year. 
 
In the past 40 years, a lot has changed - and Burbank has etched its name as one of the most exceptional Australian builders, proudly constructing more than 23,000 homes – sanctuaries that have helped foster special memories for thousands of families. 
 
In four decades, Burbank’s reach has also grown from its initial base in Melbourne, expanding to a national footprint building homes in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and South Australia.

Residential builder, Burbank, has constructed 94,300 bedrooms – an average of four per house – and has provided 59,800 Australians with a roof over their heads – more than the capacity of Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane or Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium. 
 
In all the homes built in the past 40 years, a staggering 195 million bricks have been used, which, stacked end-to-end would remarkably span a full lap of the circumference of the Earth.
