Edge Studio Manager,
What made you decide to become an interior designer?
I became an interior designer because I LOVE colour and looking at (and re designing) plans. I’ve always been fascinated by how a space can completely change how you feel; calm, inspired, overwhelmed or a little bored (when there’s far too much beige). Being part of helping someone create their home, making it beautiful and to suit their personal taste and lifestyle is both a creative challenge and an absolute privilege. Design isn’t just about making things pretty, it’s a way of creating comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging. Now I get to shape spaces that feel personal and great to live in and that’s what continues to excite me every day.
What is your own personal favourite style?
Mid‑century modern is my favourite style. Clean lines, warm woods funky use of colour, and that effortless let’s‑not‑overcomplicate‑this’ attitude: what’s not to love? It strikes the perfect balance between beauty and practicality, dramatic yet simple and creates spaces that feel grounded, timeless, and lived‑in without trying too hard. It honestly makes my heart sing
What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?
When I’m not designing spaces, I’m usually planning holidays and sometimes even actually going on them, but often just happily living in the spreadsheet phase. I love travelling whenever I get the chance, baking things that make the kitchen smell amazing, checking out kustom car shows, and dining with friends. And yes, inevitably, I end up planning even more holidays. It’s a cycle, and honestly, its fine, I’m fine with that.
Do you have any interior design tips that may help people start from scratch?
This Is The FUN Part, and we’re here to help you.
If you’re starting from scratch, my biggest tip is: Don’t panic! This Is The FUN Part, and we’re here to help you. Begin with how You Live and want the space to work and feel for You, not what you think ‘should’ do based on your friends/ colleagues/ fave influencers lifestyle and choices. Select colours and finishes you genuinely love; you will be living with them. (However, if you’re building an investment then the opposite is true, appeal to the broadest range of people, take your designers advice). A great designer should take what you love (even if it’s not their taste or the latest pintrest trend) and make it look as good as it possibly can.

My style is timeless, warm and effortlessly refined. I love neutral palettes, layered with texture, depth and thoughtful details...think of a Nancy Myers film! I’m not about chasing trends, but creating spaces that feel beautiful for years to come. A home should feel elevated, welcoming and truly lived in.

Always start with function and lifestyle before choosing finishes or furniture. Establish a colour palette early to assist you with all decisions. What made you decide to become an interior designer?
I decided to become an interior designer because I’ve always loved creating spaces that feel both beautiful and functional. I’m naturally drawn to colour, texture and how different materials work together, and I enjoy helping people bring their ideas to life in a way that suits their lifestyle. Being part of someone’s building journey is incredibly rewarding, and I love seeing their excitement when their vision becomes a reality. Knowing how design can impact how people feel in their home is what motivates me most.
What is your own personal favourite style?
My personal favourite style is Japandi; a blend of Japanese and Scandinavian design. I love interiors that feel calm, warm and intentional, with a strong focus on simplicity and functionality. Clean lines, natural materials and soft neutral tones create a sense of balance that feels minimal without being cold. I’m drawn to spaces that feel light, uncluttered and timeless, while still feeling welcoming and liveable. This style creates a peaceful atmosphere and works beautifully for homes that are designed to be both practical and aesthetically refined.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my dog and staying active through ice skating and Pilates. I love creative hobbies like pottery, crochet, piano and photography which give me a chance to express myself in different ways. On quieter days, I enjoy relaxing with video games and a cup of tea to recharge. Weekends are often spent experimenting with cocktail recipes to enjoy with friends and family. In my daily commute, you’ll usually find me listening to a finance podcast or getting hooked on psychological thrillers.
Do you have any interior design tips that may help people start from scratch?
Consider the environment you want your home to reflect, be it beach, farm, or city; as this will guide your overall style. Begin by gathering inspiration images online and creating a mood board, noting the common elements in the images you are drawn to. Use this to outline your preferred style for tiles, cabinetry, flooring etc. Once your vision is clear, explore supplier showrooms, displays, and selection studios to choose products that align with your mood board and bring your design concept to life.
Interior Designer,

Start visiting display homes to understand different styles, putting together image mood boards on Pinterest. Think of how long you would want to live in the home. Creating a wish list of what is a must-have vs what would be nice to have.
