Burbank Honoured for Excellence at the 2025 HIA South Australian Awards

Burbank South Australia has taken out two categories at the prestigious Housing Industry of Australia (HIA) awards for 2025.

The double-storey Aston 287 with Weston Façade won for ‘Display Home $500,000 - $750,000’, and their joint Burbank and Defence Housing Australia Northwest Quarter Angle Park Project won ‘Townhouse Development 6+ Dwellings’.

Burbank’s South Australian General Manager Julie Durand said the awards are a testament to the strength and collaboration of a team dedicated to bringing these homes to life.

“We’ve been building homes for more than four decades, and every home we build means something to us,” she said.

“We take great pride in building homes to suit people’s lifestyles, a place where everyday memories are made.”

“In recent years, we’ve taken this a step further, building developments in communities – both for people who are looking for low-maintenance living and for organisations like Defence Housing Australia.”

The Aston 287 display, located at Hurtle Grove Estate in Old Reynella is a stunningly appointed home, styled in a Scandinavian coastal theme featuring top brands like PGH Bricks, brushed nickel Phoenix tapware, Smeg appliances and Beaumont Tiles.

This home centres around a large, open-plan living area the extends to a grand alfresco. It has a dedicated home office, two large living areas, and five bedrooms including a generous guest room with ensuite.

The unique Weston façade is a contemporary take on the popular Scandinavian Barn aesthetic, characterised by its steep roof, clean lines and angular exterior. A first floor balcony with sliding door only adds to the commanding street presence of this modern home.

“This is just one of Burbank’s modern display homes, our footprint stretches across four states, with more than 60 displays nationally and 10 in South Australia. New, innovative homes are consistently being added to show customers the style and innovation they can expect when they build with us.”

Along with their award-winning displays, one of Burbank’s most transformative achievements has been the successful introduction and rapid growth of their  projects division, highlighted by their ‘Townhouse Development 6+ Dwellings’ award.

“These considered lifestyle projects now account for more than half of Burbank SA’s builds. Working closely with the State Government and corporate partners like the Defence Housing Australia, we’ve delivered high-quality medium-density housing solutions that address critical housing needs.”

The award winning Burbank and Defence Housing Australia (DHA) Project consisted of a 40 home development in Angle Park providing new, perfectly appointed townhouses for Defence personnel and their families.

Part of DHA’s Northwest Quarter Development, this master planned residential community sits over 6.48 hectares just nine kilometres from Adelaide’s CBD.

The community is adjacent to The Parks Community Centre, library, children’s centre and medical centre, two newly built sporting fields and provides easy accessibility to public transport.

The 40 townhouses built by Burbank were designed in three different sizes, and all feature contemporary designs that prioritise functionality and everyday liveability.

The two storey townhouses include an open plan living, dining, and kitchen area, seamlessly connected to an alfresco, along with laundry and powder room. The first floor has a main bedroom with ensuite and two spacious bedrooms and a bathroom. Each home includes a double carport for convenient parking.

Burbank is extremely proud to have been awarded for both the “Townhouse Development 6+ Dwellings’” and the “The Top Display Home from priced between $500,000 - $750,000”.

“To have both these projects acknowledged by HIA is a tremendous honour."

"The awards are fantastic recognition for our team, and we extend a huge thank you to our strong network of corporate partners, suppliers and contractors, and our amazing customers.” - Julie Durand, Burbank’s South Australian General Manager.
