Up and coming suburbs
Australia, the land of golden plains, meat pies and a housing affordability drought within many metro areas around the nation. It got depressing at the end there didn’t it? Well chin up team, because the Burbank crew have collaborated to provide the inside scoop on our pick of the up and coming spots across Aus for you to build in, and have even broken it up state by state for easy reading.
VICTORIA
Armstrong Creek & Mount Duneed
15 minutes from Avalon airport, 60 minutes from Melbourne CBD and just 5 minutes from the lazy beachside town of Torquay, the appeal of suburbs like Armstrong Creek and Mount Duneed is undeniable for lovers of summer and surf.
There are also big plans for infrastructure within this region of the west, with large businesses operating in and shifting to Geelong, increasing job opportunities as well as the desirability of the location.
HOT FEATURES: Access to the Great Ocean Road for weekend road trips, fab existing amenities in Geelong including schools, universities, hospitals and transport, and the undeniable country feel of the region.
Werribee
The west is certainly on the rise this year. Already well established and well connected, Werribee’s multi-million-dollar revitalisation means that amenities are being improved, new developments and facilities are popping up and the area’s overall atmosphere and value is steadily increasing.
Werribee’s transformation is exciting to watch- only 32km from the CBD with plenty of schools and sporting facilities available, the time tosecure your spot in the transforming Werribee is now.
HOTTEST FEATURES: Both Werribee Mansion and Zoo each host a series of fabulous events across the year, which make it a fun-filled place to live.Added note on the west: we also love Rockbank and Aintree, which are definite up and coming suburbs to watch.
NEW SOUTH WALES
Leppington, Oran Park, Box Hill, Marsden Park and Hunter/the Central Coast are just some of our favourite spots at the moment, which are each tipped to prosper in years to come. Our favourite though? Oran Park- you can find both the Northwood 244 and the Paddington 266 on display there, plus a whole stack of glorious home and land packages which are available for purchase. The master-planned community currently boasts its own primary school, town and leisure centre and library, and will soon have its own high school and potential a railway station.
HOTTEST FEATURES: Sweet prices and impressive plans for the community’s future!
AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY
The land of politicians, the AIS and cripplingly crisp winter mornings, the ACT is also home to Googong, a deliciously named master-planned community. With a family friendly atmosphere set among a $143-million-dollar town centre, various planned amenities from lush parklands, educational facilities and infrastructure, what’s not to love about a life lived in Goog-land? Around 18,000 people will one day call Googong home, so get in while it’s hot and affordable!
HOTTEST FEATURES: Its name. Obviously.
QUEENSLAND
There are a few hot spots in QLD at the minute, our picks being Pimpama, Greenbank, Jimboomba (amazingly titled don't you think?) South Ripley and Mango Hill. While they've all got our vote, the best of the best right now is Jimboomba, which is home to two of our favourite displays in Flagstone estate- the Wilshire 194 and Avanti 246. It’s also clean and lusciously green, lacks traffic and is the perfect spot for lovers of country atmosphere. It also has an array of amenity on offer making it extremely livable.
HOTTEST FEATURES: Predicted growth, affordability, peaceful vibe and fun name.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA
It won 2017's UDIA award for the best Masterplanned Development in Australia, so clearly, Blakes means business. Only 31 kilometres from Adelaide's CBD, and with an array of existing amenity including medical, educational, retail and recreational spaces, Blakes Crossing effortlessly combines the allure of untouched country living with the connectivity that is so important to residents today.
HOTTEST FEATURES: Its vibrant community vibe.
